    1. [CTNEWHAV] North Guilford/BARTLETT
    2. Hello, Edie - Thank you for writing your question, because it forced me to look more closely at my information, which is pretty much family leged, with a "scroll" put together by my great-aunt, Stacy Bartlett, in the 1930's. As I look at my Grandfather's writings (he was Samuel Bartlett) in about the 1950's, I see that he himself has a question about the relation to George, as does Aunt Stacy's scroll. He writes, "George Bartlett was not one of the original signers of the covenant, and the relationship of his family to the Massachusetts BArtletts, though probable, has not been efinitely established." In a marginal note he wrote: "There are statements in some of the genealogies that John Bartlett, one of these brothers, was the father of George Bartlett, who settled at Guilford, Connecticut, in 1640 or later. The relation is probably but not conclusively established." My note: The three brothers to whom he refers are John, Richard and Thomas, born in England between 1580 and 1590, emigrated to America in 1634-1635. It all becomes confusing at some point to me because I also descend from the Brewster line in Plymouth/Duxbury, Massachusetts, and this line also marries into one of the Bartlett lines. I don't think I have helped you, Edie, but am interested to know if you might have more information. I have the Bartlett line from George of Guilford, down through Daniel, Daniel, John, Samuel, John, Samuel Coan, Samuel (my grandfather), Samuel (my dad), to me. Frances
