I'm looking for any information on the above surnames from the New Haven County area. My grandfather, Wilford Joseph Verneau, was reportedly born in Meriden on July 15, 1885. I can find no birth records for him. His death certificate states that he was born in Meriden on that day. He died on December 5, 1940. This certificate also states that his parents were Wilford N. Verneau and Philomena LaPointe. The family has reason to believe that Wilford J. may have changed the family name from Veronneau to Verneau. Family legend says that Wilford J. had two brothers, Adelard and Jean, and possibly a sister, Catherine. This is my brick wall. Buzz Verneau Harlem, GA
