I have been looking for either a birth certificate or a register showing my grandfather's birth for some time with no results. On his social security application he stated he was born in New Haven, New Haven, CT. I have had three separate checks of the records in New Haven with no results. One source said he was born in Bristol, CT, I inquired there and was told there was no record there either. The birth was in 1884. Was it common for births of that period to go unregistered in CT? Is there a state wide source for births? I am looking for any suggestions on how I might find this information. Pam Jastremski Florida
