I'm not quite sure where to look, but I was just informed that the silent film director Mack Sennett lived for a time in Connecticut prior to or at the beginning of his film career. My contact told me that his family at some point moved to Connecticut from Quebec, Canada, but where exactly in Connecticut is unclear. A possible starting point is in or near to Bridgeport, as my grand-aunt Myra Donnelly b.1882 - d. 1929 was an actress working in Bridgeport at the time Mack Sennett started making films(c. 1907). When her mother died in 1909 she left town to pursue her acting career. My family has long claimed she acted in a number of Mack's films both in the greater New York area as well as out on the West Coast. Does anyone know of the Sennett family living in Connecticut?
