I have a family of NATION on the 1880 census for New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut and wonder if anyone on the list could find anything further about them please? They are: Thomas H(enry) NATION age 48, born in England, occupation "acid maker" Betsey (nee EDWARDS) age 43, born England Children: Ada M, age 21 born England Amy A(delina) age 19 born England Clara age 16 born England Alfred B(ryer) age 15 born England Herbert N age 12 born PA Charles E age 8 born MA So you will see they emigrated from England to America about 1865-68. Has anyone access to later censuses and could do a look up for me please? Any NATIONs would be appreciated. Also, has anyone any idea where an "acid maker" might be working in the area at that time.
