Hi! Do you by any chance have an Ethel L.Cushing in your faqmily tree? My grand-uncle James L. Murray of West Haven, CT married Ethel L.Cushing on June 5, 1919. They were still married at the time of James' death in 1931. Ethel went on to marry Joseph Charland (1933). Does any of this ring a bell? Thanks, Divina CTNEWHAV-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: >I am looking for information on Michael and Bridget (McCarthy) Cushing who lived in Naugatuck in the late 1800's. Hello... I am looking for information on Michael and Bridget (McCarthy) Cushing who lived in Naugatuck in the late 1800's. Michael died in 1896 and Bridget died in 1906. I believe my great, great grandfather, Florence D. McCarthy's, is Bridget's brother. Also, Michael may possibly have been the brother of Florence's (F.D.) wife, Catherine. Please if anyone recognizes these names, let me know! Thanks, Anne Marie

Hello, I forgot to add a message to my e-mail about Union City. A few weeks ago the Lithuanian Club of Waterbury suffered a tragic blow. The Club building along with most of their records and photographs were lost in a fire. This is more than 100 years of history of Lithuanian immigrants in Waterbury. If anyone out there has records they can copy and send to the Lithuanian club. I'm sure they would appreciate it. My family is from Ireland and I think the best parallel I can come up with is the destruction of large amounts of genealogical material in the Anglo Irish war in 1920-21. Many records were found to have remained at the county level and they could piece together some of the lost material. pete greene
Hello, There are three places in CT that have post offices with the word Union in their title. Union, CT is in northeastern Ct in the vicinity of Stafford Springs. Unionville, CT is a section of the town of Farmington west of Hartford. Union City is a section of the borough of Naugatuck. Union City overlaps the north end of Nauguatuck, the south end of Waterbury and the section of Prospect that includes Union City Road. There are a couple of churchs in Union City. The only one I know of personally is ST. Vincent Ferrer a Catholic parish. Hope this helps pete greene Cindy Lou <honeyb01@snet.net> wrote: The town Union is in the North East corner of Connecticut. I have just added the early marriages (prior to 1800) for the following towns to my web site: Abington Ashford Brookline East Windsor Madison Montville Plainfield Pomfret Redding Woodstock These can be found in the Marriage record section of the web site at: http://www.rays-place.com/index-m.htm or through the entry page at: http://www.rays-place.com/ Cheers Ray Brown

I have contacted both the Union city and the Union librarians and havent found any records but it was so long ago that now I am confused about what "Union City" means. I think there is one in New Haven County and then one elsewhere. Can anyone lend me some insight? Hello Listers, I have been trying to thank those of you who responded to my request for suggestions on the above. I did receive several replies and I did find them most helpful. I tried to thank each of you indivually and via the List. However, for some reason my list mail has bounced. Robin is working on it and asked me to try writing to the list again. In any case, thank you all very much. Margaret Bence Davis --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! Mail AddressGuard
