Was this person a Navy man? Does it help to know that the huge National Naval Medical Center is in Bethesda? If he was a patient there, he may well have died there. http://www.nnmc.med.navy.mil/ I hope this helps. Happy Thanksgiving -- Edie in Maine The Social Security Death Index indicates that this person's Social Security number was issued in Connecticut, but that his last residence was Bethesda, Maryland 20014.
Actually, I found his obit on-line - he was an active Mason. Typed in Conrad Hahn, 1906 - 1977 - let me right to it (on Google) He was NOT who I hoped he was. Thanks, though. The Social Security Death Index indicates that this person's Social Security number was issued in Connecticut, but that his last residence was Bethesda, Maryland 20014. This is not proof of where he actually died, of course, but indicates his last residence of record in the Social Security system, and perhaps the place where an obituary might be found. Hope this helps. Margaret (or) Augusta Hahn b. abt 1854 Henry Hahn b. abt 1859 to George M. & Dorothea A. Hahn (wed 2-14-1854 New Haven CT) Family is listed in the 1860 New Haven Census as follows: George, 53 born Saxony Dorothea, 32 born Saxony Elizabeth 8 born Saxony Margaret, 6 born CT - surely New Haven County Henry, 1 born CT - surely New Haven County The family is in Bristol, Hartford CT in the 1870 census; however, Margaret (would be 16) and Henry (would be 11) are NOT listed. So my next question, is, did they DIE young - and where before 1870 census. Appreciate any detective work. Gail Hahn Hutchcraft ladybug@arends-sons.com Ford County, Il volunteer
Hi, Thanks for your response. Is Old Saybrook in the Essex/Deep River area and would they have records back to 1829? June
Is it possible that Old Saybrook might have the records you are trying to find?
When researching vitals before 1850, it is usually easiest to use the state library where everything is together by name...so city doesn't matter except to find the right one of all the ones with the same name. Didn't someone just say they were going? > Both of these men were lifelong New Haven residents but, were not born > there. Hi Listers, I need help desperately! I got my mail today and was excited to see that I had received 2 responses to my birth certificate requests. Actually, what I got was 2 rejects. Now, I'm at a dead end on both of these lines. Where do I go from here? William Allen Patterson was born in Wolcott which doesn't have any record and suggested I try Waterbury. Waterbury responded with the fact that they have no records before 1870 due to a fire. George T. Clark was born in Essex whose records do not go back to 1829 but they were sure Deep River would have the record. Deep River does not have the record. Both of these men were lifelong New Haven residents but, were not born there. Would there be anything in New Haven referring to birth dates and parents? Thanks for any alternate route I might try. June

Yes, isn't it wonderful. My phone is unlisted and google still has it so that isn't any assurance. Don't give out your phone number to strangers. When you are asked online for your data make it up. > The safety issues are obvious, and alarming. This is not a hoax, mapquest > will actually put a star on your house on your street. Before you blame Google, consider the following: Any "Reverse Phone Lookup" site will give you the street address, if the phone number is not unlisted. Typing that street address into any map site will reveal the location--complete with a star.
