    3. Well, apparently I've been very lucky. I have requested several certificates -- at different times -- from New Haven Co. as well a other jurisdictions within the county and it never took more that week and a half.

    2. It can take up to 6 months to get written information (snail mail) from New Haven Vital records. It is accurate. Good Luck.

    3. June, Go to the place you bought the MO or (bank draft or American Express Money order's are best to use.). Show them the receit and they can check to see if it was cashed etc. I had some Amer Exp checks that the places didn't rec. I got them reissued. Found out later that they may have gotten chewed up in a Postal Center machine as the post office center had had a problem. They will have rec. the check back with a signature or stamp onit. Also can tell you if they were cashed etc. Ask for them to send you a copy of whoever cashed it so you know it got to right place or in the right hands. By the way, I have a Grt grfa, name Wesson Baldwin b 1817 in N Y whose fa was b in VT . I haven't found out where in Vt or where in NY Wesson was born. Haven't found out who his fa was b in Vt either. I have manages to find I believe several other bro's of Wesson but not proved it. on 1880 census in Portland Ore. The Names fit what my dad remembered as uncles etc. Mother Elizabeth Hill wwas from a rich Hill family in CT and haven't found her either. her parents forbid her to marry Wesson so I found them in Canada and had 2 ch there then went to Iowa. I believe they ran away to Canada and got married. Her family disowned her. I have 2 Baldwin Connections. first was on mother's side back in 1751 a Rebecca Baldwin mar John Brannon in abt 1865. Her parents were Jehiel Baldwin and Bridget Goodwin b in early 1700's in He in Ct and she in Mass. the 2nd was on my Fathe's side from him back. The 2 are from 1750 to 1898 apart and I don't think connected. I have the 2 CC Baldwin books of 1880 and 1889 and I found the 1st one in it with the Rebecca b in 1750.
