    3. Hello Dow, I don't know all the requirements for a voter but I am pretty sure being a citizen was one. I say this because many immigrants were in Naugatuck at that time and I am sure being naturalized would be a factor. Having said that, may I ask for a lookup on the list? Or perhaps you could tell us how to find it. I am looking for information on Edward, Thomas, or Patrick Regan (sometimes spelled Reagan). I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you, Margaret in NV Dow <dow.graham@cox.net> wrote:I found this article in the Naugatuck newspaper for October 22 1898. "NEW VOTERS. 2. Is anyone else noticing that they are not getting ALL their email from Rootsweb? I usually get 30-40 emails a day--most from Rootsweb lists. However, this week I have only been getting emails from two Rootsweb lists. It is possible no one is submitting any postings but I find that hard to believe. I have been told that AOL is blocking mail coming from Rootsweb and the List Moderator from each list are supposed to contact AOL Postmaster. Has anyone else heard of this? Is anyone not getting all their mail? Thanks Jan

    3. I guess we just wait for more word from Rootsweb -Grace http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help.cgi Mail Lists: 2004-01-28 AOL is still blocking RootsWeb mail. We have contacted AOL and are working with them to resolve the problem. In the meantime, AOL users can read list mail through the archives at: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- dns: 2004-01-27 Today, RootsWeb has undergone significant modifications to its domain name lookup and IP addresses, and from our perspective this looks to have happened without incident. However, there may be consequences external to RootsWeb's network. IP addresses are the underlying methodology that computers use to identify and talk to each other on the internet. While most ISPs will only store (cache) RootsWeb's IP addresses for short periods, some ISPs may retain our old details for an extended period. If you are having difficulties reaching RootsWeb sites (however, you probably won't see this page), the first recommendation is to wait an hour or two and then try again. If the period has extended to about a day, you may wish to ask your ISP to flush their DNS cache and see if that helps. If your ISP needs to contact us, they are welcome to contact us via the HelpDesk web form. With regard to e-mail, it is also possible that e-mail to and from RootsWeb may be delayed until the changes have spread (propagated) through the internet. Also, where RootsWeb has had some of our mailing list servers placed on a whitelist with ISPs, these arrangements may need to be renewed, with the consequence being that we may not be able to deliver e-mail to all ISPs at this time. Definition: IP Address - Every computer connected to the Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address.

    1. [CTNEWHAV] Re: To the List Administrator, Re: your AOL members
    2. Dear List Administrator, I have not received any mail from the rootsweb mail list for the past several days. I called the AOL Postmaster at 1-888-212-5537 to find out why this was happening as I belong to quite a few rootsweb mail lists. They told me that they had had such a flood of complaints from other AOL members because the AOL members were receiving so much spam mail with their rootsweb mail, AOL had to shut down all email going to all AOL members. I was not one of the ones who complained to AOL and I have not received any spam mail from any of the rootsweb mail lists. The AOL Postmaster told me that the only way this problem could be solved was that each List Administrator must contact the AOL Postmaster at this phone number 1-888-212-5537 and work with AOL to solve this problem. Until the List Administrator straightens out the problem with AOL, none of us who belong to AOL will receive any of the rootsweb mail. So please List Administrators call the above number and straighten out this mess. Janet

    2. Dear List Administrator, I have not received any mail from the rootsweb mail list for the past several days. I called the AOL Postmaster at 1-888-212-5537 to find out why this was happening. They told me that because of a flood of complaints from AOL members that they, the AOL members were receiving so much spam with their mailing list email, AOL shut down all the email going to AOL members. I was not one of the ones who complained and I have not had any problems with receiving spam with my rootsweb mail lists, I knew nothing about this. The AOL Postmaster told me that the only way this problem could be solved was that each List Administrator must contact the AOL Postmaster at the this phone number 1-888-212-5537 in order to solve this problem. Until the List Administrator straightens out the problem none of us who belong to AOL will receive the rootsweb mail. So please List Administrators call the above number and straighten out this mess.

    2. Hi Kathi - Thanks for answering. You and I have corresponded about the Barth family before (under my other email addy).. I do not have any siblings yet for Henry. I have his cause of death as jumping out of a window. I've been able to correspond with other descendants of Charles and Josephine, but all I can find out is that the marriage was apparently not a happy one, and at some point, Charles left. So far, I haven't been able to find out where or when he died. Robin List Administrator CTNEWHAV (New Haven County, Connecticut) KRUPA surname

    2. Steven C. Perkins
    3. Hello: In the Ancestry of Howard Dean, at this web page: http://members.aol.com/wreitwiesn/candidates2004/ number 1228 is Henry Peck, d 1654, of New Haven, and 1229 is his wife Joan HULL. Where does the HULL come from? The cited page in Fam of Anc New Haven does not show a surname for Joan. Did I miss something in the Corrections? She married second to Andrew Low. Does anyone have any additions to their ancestry? Number 1242 is John Thompson, d 1656, of New Haven, and wife Dorothy ?????? Does anyone have any information on their ancestry? She married second to Thomas Harrison. Regards, Steven C. Perkins SPerkins@interaccess.com http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~scperkins/

    3. Hi Judy, Found this in James Savage's book which is on the web: http://puritanism.online.fr/puritanism/Savage/savage.html THOMAS, Wallingford, eldest son of Henry of the same, married 25 Mar. 1702, Martha Hotchkiss, had, as in Geneal.Reg. V. 355, Stephen, born 28 May 1702; Mary, 14 May 1704; Thomas, 14 Feb. 1706; Enos, 15 Feb. 1708; Cornelius, 10 Sept. 1711; Martha, 21 Feb. 1714; Mehetable, 23 Feb. 1716; Benjamin, 23 Apr. 1720; Henry, 2 Mar. 1723; and Thankful, 19 Dec. 1725 His father: HENRY, Wallingford, married 21 Dec. 1676, Hannah, widow of Samuel Blackley, had Thomas, born 27 Mar. 1679; and he continued at Wallingford to 1713. He came, says tradition from Cheshire, England and may have been son of John of New Haven, or perhaps his brother. Possibly Henry's father: JOHN, New Haven 1649, had three children there before 1656; of which two were Mary, born 5 Sept. 1654; and Elizabeth 29 Sept. 1656; beside Sarah, 9 Apr. 1661; perhaps more, and may have been, after of Wallingford, and there had Hannah, born 9 Feb. 1664; Ruth, 7 Feb. 1666, who married 2 July 1688, William Baldwin; Sophia; and Elizabeth 6 Dec. 1668; but perhaps these were twins; Mary, married at Wallingford, 12 Jan. 1675, Matthew Ford; and Sarah married 29 Aug. 1687, Benjamin Robbins. John and Mary were propietorss. of New Haven 1685. This is possibly Martha Hotchkiss's father: JOSHUA, New Haven, brother of the preceding, m. 1677, Mary, daughter of George Pardee. He had second wife Esther, and third, Hannah, who died 17 Feb. 1719; but when either of the former wives. died is not known and so which was mother of the several children is unknown. They were Mary, born 30 Apr. 1679; Stephen, 25 Aug. 1681; ***Martha, 14 Dec. 1683; Joshua, who died 22 Dec. 1707; Hannah; Abraham; Priscilla, 10 Dec. 1688; Abigail, 12 Oct. 1695; Isaac, June 1701; and Jacob, Feb. 1704. He was Sheriff, and died 1722, his will being of 7 Apr. and of his good estate administration was given 22 Oct. Hope this helps.
