If you need an index from 1897 on, contact the CT Health Department in Hartford. Before 1897, there really isn't a central index. The Barbour collection covers 1650 - 1850. >does anyone know a website with a death index for new haven for the >time period of 1880 on ? I << Did you ever find this one? >>Sereno STONE Lura PHILLIPS Marriage: 28 Aug 1834 Orange, New Haven, Connecticut >> No Bill I haven't found this one yet. Have found quite a trail for Sereno but the information of his marriage and who in the world Lura's parents were has been a very illusive search for me. It would be a miracle to find an 1834 record of a marriage. If you are in the area and you do find that they have the record let me know. Thank you very much for your kind offer. If the record is there what would be the procedure to get a copy? Some states are very difficult to aquire copies of records. Thanks again for your kind offer. Jacqueline [email protected]

I live in Orange and can check with the Town Clerk if you want. I work in New Haven, so I'm usually not in Orange during Town Hall hours, but I will be taking a few days off soon and can check then. My Perkins: Frederick Perkins b. 1825, died 1890, + Julia Miriam Spencer, b.1825-1897 Lucy Perkins 1851-1938 + Algernon S. Ford 1849-1913 Susan Jane Ford 1877-1912 + Harry Stocking 1873-1959 I have not found any info yet on brothers and sisters. Lucy and Susan Jane were all from the Winsted, Litchfield area...the Ford homestead was further east...I'll look that up.... All this is very interesting. Thanks for sending your census info.
