Vol I of the Edward Frisbie genealogy by Nora Frisbie is in the process of being revised for republication...so I would wait a bit if you wish to save your pennies! Vols. 2 & 3 are still available from the Frisbie Family Association...I will provide an address shortly. Janet
Does anyone know if there is an online index of names of those who served in the New Haven based 15th Volunteer infantry for the civil war? The only one I can find is broken linked: http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/Soldier_Results.cfm?UnitCode=UCT0015RI I know ancestry.com has it though the subscription but I dont have one... I'm trying to find a listing of all BYINGTON men that served in this regiment. Thanks for any help, Grace
Hello, Pat. I really appreciaate your offering to do the census lookup. Will you please see if you can find William A. Spencer in 1850? Thank you. Gail

Sue, I'd be interested in what the Waterbury book has on Elizabeth Nichols' parents, since you asked! And could I talk you out of the page number(s) so I can document this information? Thanks! And to Barry who started this question -- I've been digging into this family very recently. How are you related to this Wakelee couple? There is a Wakelee website which has available for download the Wakelee pages from the Families of Old Fairfield, which is where James and Ebenezer were from. Go to http://home1.gte.net/bwakeley/genealogy/ and you can get either word or adobe formatted pages. I was told that Elizabeth Nichols' father Joseph was son of Isaac Jr of Stratford, whose line is also in FOOF but I don't know anywhere for you to download it online. This Joseph was supposed to have been on Long Island for awhile, then in Derby before going to Waterbury. Diane > From: "Barry H. I wondered if the person kind enough to have been doing lookups in the Barbour collection might be willing to check for the names CODRINGTON and Foster I have several Cods originally from Jamaica BWI who leave wills noting residence in New Haven or "just outside New Haven" and have yet to locate their gravesites. These people were active in the area from 1800- about 1875 and had in-laws in the Foster family of New Haven one of whom was Eleazer Kingsbury Foster who was active in both local and state politics. I'm most convinced she is an undocumented daughter of Abel Blakeslee Bronson and Elizabeth Mallory, but I've not found the evidence. Grace, thank you very much! Not finding her there is actually GOOD news.. Her headstone was most difficult to read, I've been told, and place of birth was translated as being either North Haven or New Haven, and "perhaps" eliminating North Haven, leaves the rest of the county open. Abel B. Bronson moved back and forth from New Haven and Litchfield Cos. Go to the Walter Gilbert genealogy site: http://www.otal.umd.edu/~walt/gen/htmfile/frames.htm You will find your Daniel Gilbert and Sarah Todd listed there (use the index at left) and can share your information with Walter Gilbert. He has done a monumental job in compiling family data and making it available to others. You might even find some of the additional information you are seeking. I found no Codringtons and a few Fosters in Branford and Bridgeport- are any of those towns in interest to you? Id much rather not type them all out if not. I would like to ask, I certainly dont mind looking these names up but I please ask that you give me a name and the town you are interested in (Branford, Bridgeport, North Haven, Newtown or North Branford). I cant really look up each and every name in all of the towns especially if you know that, say, Bridgeport is so not close to where they were. Thanks for the cooperation, its time consuming and I want to be able to help everyone but its getting hard! -Grace > > I wondered if the person kind enough to have been doing lookups in the > Barbour collection might be willing to check for the names CODRINGTON and > Foster > > I have several Cods originally from Jamaica BWI who leave wills noting > residence in New Haven or "just outside New Haven" and have yet to locate > their gravesites. A list-posted "Thank You" to all who helped with my Hall, Wakelee, Nichols and Judd requests! By way of commentary...little did I suspect two years ago when I began checking my late Wallingford/Cheshire CT grandmother's Tuttle/Welton lines, that I would find such a voluminous yet "tight" gene-pool of New Haven Colony ancestors....six signers of the New Haven Fundamental Agreement of 1639 so far, and four of them twice...I've been able to find a number of them on the New Haven Settlement map....and I've discovered...a Montauk Indian from Southold, L.I.N.Y....and a number of founders of Stratford, and many Waterbury Weltons...and I'm beginning to plug in the Hartford Colony as well, and the Pequot War... What makes this especially exciting is that of my other three main lines, one is from the western Plymouth Colonie, and the other two are southern Washington County "Kingstowne" "Narragansett Country" Rhode Island lines...(where the King Phillip War-Great Swamp Fight was fought in 1675).. all of these lines are beginning to run together! I'm still confused by the CT Scott-Upson-Fuller connection, but it does seem that there's a tie-in with the Mayflower Surgeon Fuller, and....that implies that the King Phillip War of 1675 gave some of the Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay Colony participants an impetus to move to CT...and the Northampton, Hampshire County area of MA connects strongly to the Hartford Colony of the time, as it was a major place engaged in the King Phillip War as well.... I'm still rather amazed to find how many of my lines in the New Haven Colony, when traced back, overlap two, three, even four times...which suggests that a great many people did stay put for some 300 years... Again, thank you so much for your kind assistance! May I remind everyone of my Waterbury "Welton Wheel", printed approx. 1880, if I can help with lookups there, using the limited information on the wheel. Jan 1800; she, Aug 11, 1802, ae 85] Nothing on James but it does have Elizabeth's parents if you need that. Ezra Bronson, s. of John, m. Susanna Judd, dau. of Thomas, Sept. 6, 1753. [He d. Sept 1, 1795; and she, Oct 13, 1828] Thomas Judd, s. of John, m Ann Porter, d. of Dan, May 11, 1732. [He d. 1740] and Ann m. James Nichols. Children: 1. Michael, b Sept 7, 1733; d Oct 8, 1734; 2. [He d. abt 1718; she 1750] Seven children are listed including Thomas, b in July 10, 1707. The only info on Left Thomas is that his wife (Unnamed) d. Hi, Needing to know if there were any persons with the surname of Alderman. Thanks, Maria
I apologize... I don't know what happened to the formatting on my earlier message in reply to both Barb and Grace regarding my Bronsons.. Before I hit the send button, both emails were referenced, and the email was signed What has just come in is a single message with no references at all... Not even a space between messages, AND no signature...I don't think I will ever get used to Yahoo email...;0)) Anyway, Grace, I really appreciate your look-up! I would like to add my services to the list... I have access to online Census scans through 1850 for CT... I will be glad to do look-ups. Pat Kane --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
