Grace, Could you do a lookup for Veronneau/Verneau surnames in the Meriden area? I'm specifically looking for Wilford Veronneau/Verneau. I used both spellings because I believe my grandfather changed the spelling. He (Wilford Joseph Verneau) claimed he was born in Meriden in 1885 but I can't find any record of it. Maybe the 1900 census has sometime in it for me. TIA. Buzz Verneau Harlem, GA
Grace, I would appreciate a lookup for Patrick Conaty and Bridget Farrell in the 1900 Fed index. Also Edward and Hannah Perkins. You are so generous to do this! Dorothy
I didnt find any instances of those surnames (or anything really close) in CT in 1900. Did find Vernear, William and checked it but nothing looked familiar to what you wrote. William and Katharine and niece Eveline Vernear in the same house. Sorry! -Grace > Grace, > Could you do a lookup for Veronneau/Verneau surnames in the Meriden area? > I'm specifically looking for Wilford Veronneau/Verneau. As others have said 1890 is not available but I can help with a 1900 lookup if you need. Others on the list can also do 1880. -Grace > Do any of you have access to the 1890 Fed. Hi, I am wondering if anyone has found any proof that any of the sons of Caleb CANDE (1st), 1722-1777, were indeed, veterans of the Revolutionary War. I am descended through his eldest son, Caleb 2nd of Oxford, who is buried in Jack's Hill Ceme. According to the Candee family history, by Charles Candee Baldwin on pgs 16-18, it was believed that all of his sons (Caleb 1st) were members of the Rev. War, and that all his children were born as British subjects (bottom of pg 17). I have written to NARA on several anscestors of various lines and they (NARA) state they have no records, even though I might have found from previously written books that a particular person had served, NARA hasn't found any records. I'm assuming some records were lost or destroyed. If anyone has knowledge of the validity of the sons of Caleb partaking in the Rev. War, in particular, Caleb 2nd, please contact me. I do have some information on Caleb's other sons, such as Rev. Gideon, Timothy, & Daniel that moved to the central NY area, if anyone is intersted. Thanks! Dianne
Hello Everyone: We are searching for descendants of Robert STEVENS (1823-1892) of New Haven, CT. Mr. Stevens was married on March 16, 1856 (2nd wife) to Adelia A. YOUNGS (1831-1900) and they had children at New Haven. Robert STEVENS is a direct descendant of John STEVENS (1607-1662) who was an early immigrant from Southampton, England to Newbury, MA in 1638. Thank you most kindly for any information. Ryan Jackson mailto:[email protected]

Time to put in My Brick Wall I think. I am looking for information on Carlton Leslie Graves, born: October 2, 1856 in Madison Connecticut. He is the Youngest son of William Graves and Emily Dickinson. He had 9 siblings: Sarah Ann, 1834, Elizabeth 1835, William Trowbridge 1837, Melissa Emma 18839, Oliver Gilbert 1941, George Dallas 1843, Alethe 1846, Benjamin Franklin 1849. This information I have gotten form Alvin Talcott's book Families of Early Guilford, Connecticut. Carlton Leslie Graves married Sarah ( Sadie) Frances Benedict June 30,1883. Sarah is listed as being from Warren CT. on Marriage record. She was married before and had one child. I have not been able to find any information on Her first marriage or child. Carlton Leslie Graves died November 3, 1894 I think maybe in Madison. Does any one know the name of a news paper I can contact to find if and obit was posted? I tried the Library but no one could help Me. My Grandmother, Goldie Bell Graves Green is the only child of Carlton and Sarah. I would appreciate information on the Parents of Sarah. Thanks, Nancy Jones ( in sunny Florida) [email protected]
