Hi, I'm searching for information on the parents of Louisa Bishop. Louisa was b in 1805 in New Haven, CT. She married Ira Booth on Jan 30, 1825, at her father's home on State Street in New Haven & died on May 2, 1868, in Roxbury, CT. Are there New Haven City directories for yrs prior to 1840? I've been trying to locate lists of residents of State Street in the year 1825 in the hopes of locating her parents names. Thanks. Marg

Philip CRONAN {b. 1831} married Ann McNERNEY {B. 1842} July 5, 1857 in New Haven. Unable to locate original document. Index indicates brides name was Hannah MCCARNEY. Marriage took place in St. Mary's Church. Located a death record for a Philip CRONAN in 1885 but he was only 19 years old. Our Philip died in 1885-1886 also. I think the 19 year old was a son or grandson.
Jennifer, I am researching Pierre Rousseau/Duruzeaux, and have found him to be one of the very earliest settlers in the Pensacola area, back in the 1600's-1700's. May I ask if you see anything on any Rousseau line or particularly Pierre, that you forward it to me? I live in the extreme northeast and have no access to Pensacola/Fla/Alabama resources. I did'n know if the military base would have some sort of info in their mesuem. But I don't have their address or email address. Would appreciate your help. By the way, my gr grandfather was an original settler and named the town of Live Oak, Florida. He was born in Swanee Co. 9 March 1818. His name was William Henry Rousseau, and we have been searching for his parents for about60 years. Thank you for your help. I haven't been able to find the birth record of Elizabeth Maria Smith, born 26 January 1824, supposedly in West Haven. I am housebound. This record might be in either West Haven or Orange: Her father Simeon Smith is with his father Ichabod Smith in the 1820 Census, "New Haven except the city," but in 1830 he is in Orange near a bunch of Kimberly cousins. He went south shortly afterwards. His father Ichabod and mother Martha (Richards) stayed on in Orange through the 1850 census. I would also like to know where Eliz Smith's mother, Lovisa (Kimberly) Smith, is buried. She died 23 November 1829, supposedly in West Haven. She might be buried with Kimberly members in New Haven, or in Orange, or in West Haven. More details: Her father, Simeon Smith, married Lovisa Kimberly, daughter of Nathaniel Kimberly, 17 June 1818. (See Families of Ancient New Haven, Vol. V, Kimberly, Page 1073, and Vol. VII, Smith, Page 1641-2.) Unfortunately, the Shepard / Jacobus team didn't get Simeon's marriage details straight in the Smith part. (Genealogical Register of the Descendants of Several Ancient Puritans Vol3, Simeon Smith, his father Ichabod Smith, and his daughter Elizabeth Maria SMITH Johnson are all buried in Franklin, Louisiana. ) Many thanks for your help... Sarah

My grandfather was Abraham (aka Albert) N. Lipson b. 25 Feb. 1884. Some records say he was born in New Haven, CT but it is possible he was actually born in Poland/Russia and immigrated 1900-1905. His parents were Joseph Lipson and Rose Roskin. There is a strong possible link to Joseph Lipson/Lipshitz found in Waterbury, CT on the 1910 census (Lipshitz on that census) and in Bristol, CT from 1914-1920. He is listed as Lipson in the Bristol City Directories and on the 1920 census in that city. His family is as follows: Joseph b. abt 1881 in Russia (Vilna) immigrated in 1905 Eva (wife) b. abt. 1886 in Russia (Vilna) immigrated in 1905 Mary (dau) b. abt 1903 in England immigrated in 1905 Samuel (son) b. abt 1907 in CT Sarah (dau) b. abt 1909 in CT Anna (dau) b. abt 1910 in CT I have good reason to believe that the above Joseph is the brother to my grandfather Abraham/Albert Lipson. I hope to hear from someone who recognizes this family. Pam Lipson Jastremski FL
