Hi Jane, In the book "The Tryon Family in America" compiled and edited by Wes. M. Tryon, published Feb. 1969, on page 53 it says, Mary Tryon, first daughter of Thomas Tryon and Mary (Andrews) Tryon, was born at Middletown, Conn., Nov. 24,1735, and was baptized as Mary Trion into the Middletown First Church, Nov. 30,1735. She married Mr. Clark. I don't know if this helps or just add more to your puzzle. It doesn't say which Clark, Mary married and she is the daughter of Thomas rather than John. The book is on the Internet as part of Family Tree Makers Genealogy Library.com Harry Walden, Georgetown,TX "Devlin, Jane" wrote: > Here's one of my puzzles - John Tryon of Middletown - the father of > Mary Tryon who supposedly married Ruben(5) Clark - b 1735 - > (Pealtiah(4), William(3), Joseph(2), William(1) emigrant ancestor & > Haddam founder).
