Tim, I'm afraid that the Hamden book doesn't list anyone with the surname CRAIG nor does it mention The Safety Car Htg. & Ltg. Co. It really is a history of Hamden that just happens to provide some details for a small number of families. If I were looking for Mr. Craig, I would call the Hamden Public Library (there must be one), and ask to speak with a reference librarian. Then I would ask the reference librarian the best source of information about Hamden residents of that time and how you might get the information. I did this with a library in Guilford, CT and the librarian took me back through several geneations of the familiy I was researching and also told me the names of sources to find and read. As for The Safety Car Htg. & Ltg. Co., I would call the reference desk at the New Haven Public Library and do the same sort of exploration by phone. Some librarians immediately say that they don't have th time or that the library has a policy against doing genealogical lookups. The Guilford Free Public Library was certainly please to receive the donation I sent them, though. Good luck to you. Tim Millar wrote: > Robert, > > Very kind to offer to do some lookups.
