I am looking for information on Zechariah(5)Brainerd, son of Zachariah Brainerd and Mehitable Clark. From the information I have, The Genealogy of the Brainerd-Brainard Family in America......by Lucy Abigail Brainard, Zachariah was born August 15, 1773 in Haddam. He m. Jane Wheeler, dau. of Job Wheeler and Esther Bailey in 1793. Zechariah moved to Durham, NY prob early 1800's. He is of the Elijah(2)line of Daniel(1)Brainerd, one of the co-founders of Haddam. I'm in the proccess of verifying the information that I have found from different sources. What type of documentation would be available during this time period to substantiate the date of b. marr. and d. for Zachariah. Any books that may contain a brief bio on him, his occupation, etc? Church records, family Bible. Is anyone else researching this line?
