Hi Everyone! My name is Nicole Rosenberger. I am in the process of researching my genealogy. I am in a bit of a sticky wicket... Let me start at the beginning. My mother's father is Alfred Brainard Carrier JR, was born 10/16/1916, and died 12/29/1957. His Father was Alfred Brainard Carrier SR, born 7/12/1882, and died 5/27/1958. Alfred SR's father is John A. (possibly Alfred) Carrier born 3/7/1855 and died unknown. He was married to Caroline J Simpson. We can't seem to get past this. We have no knowledge of who John's parents are. We do know that our Carriers are all from Haddam/Middle Haddam. We have been there for quite some time (since about the late 1600's/early 1700's) We are descended from Martha Carrier of Salem in some way. Also, there is in our family (in CT) a family house. It is on one of the rivers. Currently, my mothers cousin Paul still lives there. Because of the middle name of Brainard, we were thinking that John's mother or some female relation was a Brainard, as the Carrier's intermarried with the Brainards pretty often. Also, this house... perhaps this was a Brainard house at some point, and the inheritance passed down to a Carrier. This house was a stop on the underground railroad, if that is of any help. We will take ANY information that anyone can provide!!!
