    3. Hi Alison, We are distant cousins apparently. Here is what I have from "Stephen Russell of East Hampton and Haddam, Conn. and some of his descendants" by Nellie L. Russell Bay Shore, NY Nellie and my Grandmother were first cousins. Capt. Charles Smith Russell (Daniel2, Stephen1) b. 1809; d. 21 Nov 1885, age 76 yrs. 8 mo; (Bur. Rock Landing Cemetery) m. 1st Abigail Young on 20 Dec 1830; she died 27 Jun 1842, age 31;(Bur. Rock Landing Cemetery): m. 2nd Claressa Serena Selden, b. 27 July 1828; d. 1 Jan 1901; her family did not use the name Claressa but she was admitted to Haddam Neck Cong. Church by that name. Her gravestone reads Serena Selden Russell(Bur. Rock Landing Cemetery). Children by Abigail Young i Henry L. b. 22 Sept 1831; d. 9 Sept 1893; m. Elizabeth Sextonwho was b. 3 Nov 1828; she died 13 Apr 1910(New Cemetery, Haddam Neck) ii Charles D. b. 1834; d. 26 Oct 1854 age 19, unm; iii James N. Capt of "RICHARD PECK"; b. 5 June 1840; d. 30 June 1896; m. Joshephine Clark, no child. There were chidren by Serena Seldon but they do not apply here. I descend from Capt. Charles' brother Stephen.
