Seeking information on a James STERLING born 1770 supposedly in Middlesex Co. to Demas (MORSE) and Daniel STERLING. I have a James STERLING born c. 1770 who appears in Athens Co., OH around 1818 and is definitely on the 1830 and 1840 censuses there, dies c. 1845, and is buried in the STERLING Cemetery, Canaan Twp., Athens Co. Probable sons are Morse STERLING born c. 1804 Westmoreland (Oneida Co.?), NY, James STERLING, born c. 1819, Midson/Manson STERLING, Mervin/Murvin STERLING, and perhaps others in Ohio. Morse and James moved on to Illinois in 1850s. A Mary SWIFT, age 81, born CT, appears in Morse's household in 1860 Macoupin Co., IL census (Morse's wife was Roxanna JOHNSON). Does anyone have information on MORSE and STERLING in CT in this time period? Any particular sources which might be useful? Thanks in advance. Linda Kmiecik, of Illinois
