Funk, 60 of Howard City, died Jan. 4, 2002, at her residence. She was born June 21, 1941, in Stanwood, the daughter of Raymond and Beulah (Cain) Cornell. She had a love for bowling, fishing and recording her 33's to cassettes. In 1961, she married Don Funk, who survives her. Also surviving are two sons, Richard (Kim) Funk of Kent City and Donald (Kim) Funk of Morley: three daughters, Vicki (Milt) Burns of Howard City, Sandra Califf of Grand Rapids and Tracey Funk of Howard City: 19 grandchildren: 6 brothers, David Cornell of Morley, Frank Corness of Sand Lake, John Cornell of Cedar Springs, Jim Cornell of Morley, Larry Cornell of Sand Lake and Dennis Cornell of Morley: three sisters, Marion Bigelow of Morley, Betty Fountain of Fennville and Diana Braden of Newaygo: and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Danny: and one sister, Patty. Funeral services took place on Jan. 7 at 1 pm at the Heckman-Mohnke Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Butial will be in Pierson cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home, where friends called on Jan. 6 from 3 to 5 p.m. and prior to services on Monday.
