    3. Saybrook was originally in New London County and when Middlesex county was created it became part of Middlesex County. Old Saybrook is a relatively new town. Most records are under Saybrook. Saybrook included the current towns of Chester, Deep River, Essex, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. My Middlesex County page on UsGenWeb identifies when each town was crested and when Middlesex county was created. The link to that page is included below in my signature.
