Prentiss Glazier in Clark-Clarke Families of Early Connecticut, 1973manuscript in CT State Library gives the following: Daniel CLARK (John2, Wm.1) b. 1680, Middletown; m. there 1704, Elizabeth, dau. Franics WHITMORE or WETMORE. He died there in March 1725, and his wid. m (2) William Savage, who d. soon therafter. She d. Jan. 31, 1743. His will, naming wife and children, refers also to land inherited from "my grandfather Harris". Church records at Middletown. I have a wife of Francis, Sr. as being Hannah HARRIS. I also surmise from Daniel's probate records that Elizabeth married a WILLIAMS after the death of William SAVAGE.
