    3. Hi, Cuz -- I have been told in no uncertain terms that there is no documentation to show that John was the father of Francis/1 and Thomas/1. And Thomas spelled his name using some variant of WETMORE before settling on WHITMORE in his will. I don't know if there is anything firm connecting Thomas/1 with Francis/2, more than the latter's move to Middletown. The two girls, supposedly their sisters, married and stayed in MA. The youngest, John (Jr.), went with this father and stepmother in the Rev. Denton's hegira to Stamford in 1641. John Sr. was killed by Mohegan Indians in 1648, as you know. I've never heard about any will. Alas, until some evidence of their origins is turned up in the UK we're probably stuck. Supposedly they took ship from Bristol, and curiously that's where there is the densest collection of WETMOREs in ENG today.
