However, Francis Sr. died in 1750 and she died 1743. >> Francis Sr = Francis/2 m. HARRIS, s/o Francis/1 of Cambridge and Isabel PARKE? I think he was b. about 1650. And Francis/2 had a Francis/3, just to confuse matters. :-) But no Elizabeths. Francis/1 died 1685, aet. 60. His eldest child Elizabeth/2 b. 1649 m. Daniel MARKHAM -- rings a bell; was he a Middletown guy? Francis/3 m. Mary CORNWELL and had an Elizabeth/4 b. Apr. 12, 1716. | I, too, have the information on Elizabeth, b Middletown 20 Mar 1686 (Barbour | Collection), daughter of John Wetmore & second wife Mary Savage. Mary married | John 1 Apr 1686 in Middletown, and after John's death in 1696 married Obadiah | Allen. I don't have other children listed for either marriage, though there | probably were some. I think Eliz/3 was b. 1687. Savage's Dictionary has this: "JOHN, Middletown, eldest son of the first Thomas, married 30 Dec. 1680, Abigail, eldest daughter of Andrew Warner, had Thomas, born Apr. 1682; and Abigail, 2 May 1685, both died young; and his wife died 5 May 1685. He married 1 Apr. foll. Mary, daughter of John Savage of the same, had Elizabeth 20 Mar. 1687; Mary, 18 Jan. 1692, died young; John, 21 May 1694; and Ebenezer, posthum. 17 Sept. 1696. He had made his will 6 Aug. 1689, and died 31 Aug. 1696; and his widow married Obadiah Allen." PS: I believe there are descendants of Ebenezer living today. | For the other Elizabeth, daughter of John Whitmore & Abigail Warner, I have | only a death date of 31 Jan 1743. Looking back at A.W. Savage's references | for his facts on this Elizabeth, I find he cites Adams, "Middletown Upper | Houses", p 159, for the death date and Savage, "Family of John Savage", p 10, | for her parentage and first marriage to Daniel Clark. | | As for Francis Wetmore Sr, in his will he does mention a daughter Elizabeth, | amongst others. | | I take it you're suggesting that these Elizabeths are the same, and the John | Whitmore/Wetmores mentioned are the same, leading to the question of which | wife was mother of Elizabeth--Abigail Warner (first wife) or Mary Savage | (second wife). Exactly! There were several John/3 WETMOREs, but their dates are wrong. Susan replied with good information on the Elizabeths and the | various marriages. I really have no other information to add. But I'd like to | ask where is that online version of the Wetmore genealogy? Okay -- it was scanned by various and put up by a British WHITMORE, Derek. His site: http://www.btinternet.com/~derek.whitmore/freedown.htm which of course mainly features WHITMORE materials, including the W.H. WHITMORE genealogy of the desc. of Francis/1. You'll want "The Wetmore Family of America and its Collateral Branches" by J. C. Wetmore. 768 kB, zipped. File is called Wetmem.zip. I think it's in Rich Text Format, which you can open with Windows WordPad or MS Word. I haven't checked it against the hard copy. The WH WHITMORE genealogy has at least one other child of Francis/1 moving to CT: Thomas/2 who lived in Killingly. But had no dau. Elizabeth.
