Hello, Nancy...Thank you for your kind offer to help me find my family. My gggrandfather's Swedish name was Carl Johan Samuelsson. I think at some point after his arrival, but I don't know exactly when, he changed from Samuelsson to either Samson or Sampson. Carl Johan was a blacksmith in Sweden. He, his second wife, and their six children left Sweden in May, 1872. His wife was Maja. Their eldest child was my ggrandfather, Carl August (later changed to Albert). On 1875 N.Y. census he was listed as Albert Samson, residing in Dayton, N.Y. He was born in 1855. Second child was Emilie Christina born 1857 son Johan Alfred (maybe simply Alfred in U.S.A.) born 1863. daughter Ida Amanda born 1866. daughter Anna Mathilda born 1869 son Axel born 1871 I think it's likely they had a son, Frank, born about 1876 in the U.S.A., and son, Evert, born in 1879. I think son, Carl August (Albert) separated ways from his family after their arrival. He would have been 17 yr. old at the time of his arrival to the U.S.A. I'd truly appreciate anything you could do to help me find anyone of these family members in your area. Thank you for your kind offer.
