There was an article published in the Middletown Press last fall in the 75 Years ago column. Oct. 8, 1926: Middletown - It was reported today that the Lincoln Drug Co. store at 288 Main street had been sold to the Liggett's drug syndicate, one of the large drug combinations in the country. An effort was made to see Howard N. Lincoln of the Lincoln Drug Co., but it was said he was out of town. It is understood that he was in New York in relation to the coming transfer of the local company. The Lincoln store has been one of the best known drug stores in the city. It was long located at the corner of Court and Main streets. When that property passed into the hands of the Middletown Savings bank the drug company began to look around for a new location. Note: Howard N. Lincoln was my grandfather. I'm not sure if he had another drug store in Middletown or not. But I do know that in the 1930's he had a drug store in Simsbury, Ct. He died in Simsbury, 18 Jan. 1939. He is buried in the East Cemetery in Cromwell, Ct.
