Dear Middlesex and Hartford Listers, Thanks to some wonderful assistance received overnight, I have now established that my wife's GGG Uncle, William Pamphilion REEVE (born about 1817 at Linton, Cambridgeshire, England), and his wife (and my wife's first cousin four times removed), Jane Frances BOCOCK (whom he married at Exning, Suffolk, England, in October 1847), emigrated to the good old U.S. of A. after 1853 and before 1859. The 1860 US Census shows that William Pamphilion REEVE, a miller, aged 44, born in England, lived at Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut, with his wife, Jane Frances REEVE, aged 36, born in England, and his children: William M. REEVE, aged 11, born in England; Thomas REEVE, aged 9, born in England; Samuel REEVE, aged 7, born in England; and John REEVE, aged 11 months, born in Connecticut. The 1880 US Census shows (sadly) that Jane Frances REEVE, a widow, aged 55, born in England, lived at Burlington, Hartford County, Connecticut, with her son, John REEVE, a farmer, unmarried, aged 20, born in Connecticut. It appears (also from the 1880 US Census) that the eldest son, William REEVE, a machinist, aged 31, born in England, lived at New Britain, Hartford County, Connecticut, with his wife, Flora Reeve (nee ?), aged 28, born in Massachusetts, and his children: William R. REEVE, aged 9; Thomas REEVE, aged 7; and Alice REEVE, aged 5, all born in Connecticut - and that the second son Thomas REEVE, a jeweller, unmarried, aged 28, born in England, lived at the home of Sarah C. HARDY, a widow, at Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. If anyone in the United States links with any of the above, I should be pleased to 'hear' from them! Yours, etc. Geoffrey Woollard in Cambridgeshire, England.
