I'll be in Connecticut soon and want to revisit the cemetery in which some of the earliest of my Higby ancestors are buried. I was there once and recall that it is across the freeway from the main area of Middletown (and the college). Then a rickety gate and up a tiny hill, just a few headstones...some Bacons there as well. Now I have not been able to locate that cemetery on Jane's site, which I thought was where I found it before. Edward Higby was the first one there, but I don't know where his grave is. One of his sons, John I believe, and his wife are in the cemetery that I seek. From the cemetery you can look down on someone's house and pool. Does anyone know this cemetery and can you give me the name and location? Thank you....Norma Unger (gg-granddaughter of Jeduthan Higby)

Check out the listings for the Old & New Highland Cemeteries - there are HIGBYs in both (some spelled HIGBE). You didn't give dates, but there's a John HIGBY in the Old Highland Cemetery who died in 1789 at age 84. There are more HIGBYs in the Old South Side Cemetery & the Indian Hill Cemetery. (These are all found under Middletown Cemeteries in the Middlesex Co. section.) Hope this helps you find your ancestors. Jane list mom http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/
