Hello. Thanks so much for your email. I really appreciate it. I think the woman listed as Louisa Dunham may be my great-grandmother. We knew her as Louise. She was from Berlin (the Beckley section) and was born in 1857. I don't have her birthdate. She married E. Ferdinand Dunham of Main St., Portland, Ct. and had one daughter, my grandmother, Grace (she died in 1918 from the flu). Louise lived until 1943 and died at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. I have been trying to find information on her and her family for years and always come to a dead end. I can't locate her or her parents or brothers. Her brothers were in the Civil War. On your Bacon list there is a Elizabeth S. Bacon and I was wondering if that could be her sister Minnie Slater Bacon? She married Franklin Bacon of Berlin. I think he owned the Berlin Trap Rock Company and they lived in the Beckley section. The Franklin you gave me the information on sounds like the right one. My dad lived with them for a while as a young boy. The Bacon's had two daughters, Ruth and Norma. Ruth married Grant Wickwire and became Dean of Women at Hanover College in Indiana. Norma lived most of her life in E. Berlin. Elizabeth was called Min and Minnie and was the principal for the Beckley school in Berlin. I met her when I was three. If you could give me an idea on how to research Louise and her family or learn who her parents are, as I'm not sure how to go about it, I'd appreciate any hints. I can't come in to anywhere, as I'm from Portland, Ct. and was born in Middletown, but have lived in Scottsdale, Arizona for 27 years. They don't have many research centers of any kind out here. I've tried with the Mormon site (on the web) but always come to a dead end. I haven't been able to find anything on RootsWeb either. Perhaps I don't know how to look up the proper information. Thanks so much for your time and your kind reply. Janet Perry
