    1. SNYDER - BUSHNELL Family Bible
    2. Shelley & Tomas Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old family bible which belonged to the SNYDER Family of New York and Illinois. Family Records contained in the bible are as follows: Family Bible of Philip SNYDER "Copied and filed in vert file in L. H. Room 1007" Dutchess County Historical Society Family Record - Marriages: * Philip SNYDER and Melendea DEUEL, 1 May 1855, married at Phelps, Ont. Co. * Philip SNYDER and Orphana M. MCDONALD, 1 May 1861 Family Record - Births: * Philip SNYDER at Rhinebeck, NY on 22 Nov 1826 * Melendea DEUEL at Stillwater, on 10 Mar 1829 * Caroline Melendea SNYDER at Albany, on 12 Apr 1856 * Orphana M. MCDONALD nee BUSHNELL at Saybrook, CT, on 3 Sept 1828 * Clarence Griffin SNYDER at Quincy, IL, on 9 Feb 1862 Family Record - Deaths: * Melendea DEUEL SNYDER at Albany, on 18 Feb 1857 * Caroline Melendea SNYDER at Albany, on 15 Jul 1857, aged 1 yr, 3 mos. + 3 days * Clarence Griffin SNYDER at Quincy, IL, on 30 Jul 1862, aged 5 mos. + 21 days Based on limited research I do find the Philip SNYDER's second wife was probably Orphana Mehatabel BUSHNELL b. 3 Sept 1828 in Westbrook, CT to parents Nehemiah & Orphana BUSHNELL. Orphana BUSHNELL MCDONALD SNYDER died 5 June 1913 according to records. It appears that the bible was once in the possession of the Dutchess County Historical Society but was released, likely due to a lack of storage which seems to often result in these societies releasing original materials in favor of copies taking up much less shelf space. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the bible can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
