I have lots of oral history on my grandfather Willard Robinson, but hit my brick wall with the Robinson clan right after I found Frank's birth certificate in Marlborough. What I do have: Franklin E. Robinson b: 26-JAN-1841: shown in the 1850 and 1860 census as living in the household of James and Dolly Gart(l)on, Voluntown, CT. enlisted in the 18th CT Infantry in 1861 from Mansfield CT. Listed as deserted in 1862, married Diana Hartson b: 1841, Windham, CT. 1880 census Chatham CT shows Franklin E Robinson 36 years, mother and father born in CT Diana Robinson, 36 years, mother and father born in CT Children: Herbert age 13, Edward, age 10, FRANKLIN age 8, Adella age 4, Carleton 5 mo. Frank(lin) Robinson married Mary J. Bidwell their children were: Lionel, Dan, Bob, Willard, Alan, Cora, Gladys, Etta, Hazel and Francis Mary divorced Frank, and married Atlee Hotchkiss and had one child, Alberta (nickname Bertie) Willard married Cecelia Ann Guile, they had one child, Evelyn Anna Robinson (my mom) What I'm desperately looking for, is Franklin E's parents and any clue as to why he was living with the Garton's. He's not listed as an apprentice. If you'll send me you're address, I'll forward my research, and all of the family history I have. Some of it is very colorful! Where did you get the "Johnson" for Mary Bidwell? Her mother was Elizabeth Graham, her father was Benjamin Bidwell. Nice hearing from you! my e-mail is [email protected]
