Now, Martha, that would be too easy. I have already been in contact with the Clinton Historical Society and they mailed me what they had on Robert CARTER's line. There were no deeds included with the information. Our cousin, LeRoy, already gave me the absolute best gift possible--a copy of the 1924? CARTER reunion program and family history. It was a short manuscript with poems, history of the CARTER house, which is on the historical register there in Clinton, and some outline of the family tree. I will contact him directly. For me, the fun in this hobby is the "finding" part. Usually, when I research a family name, I have lists of various other families that are in my line and I research all at once. That is how I found myself copying most of the Clinton vital records--every page practically had at least one family member listed. Also, I like to browse the deeds looking for places where our ancestors witnessed a deed or is mentioned on adjoining property. This is the hobby that never dies because there is always new things to learn!
