Surnames: McFarland, Fowler, Richardson, Abercrombie Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xY.2ADI/761 Message Board Post: I am trying to find the death dates for two persons buried in Trinity Cemetery: Janet M. Fowler and Samuel K. Richardson. Both died in 1922, neither in Portland. Janet M. Fowler, called Jennie, was the daughter of David McFarland and Catharine Abercrombie; she is buried in the same plot with them. She was born in Portland in 1856, and married JC Fremont Fowler in 1880. He died in Portland, Maine in 1887. Jennie eventually returned to Connecticut, first to Waterbury, then back to Portland. She moved to Summit, NJ in about 1915 to live with her daughter, my grandmother, to help her care for my father and uncle. She is in the Summit city directory until about 1919, and is not in the 1920 Census. Her year of death is from a transcription of the Trinity Cemetery gravestones done in the 1930s. Samuel K. Richardson was Jennie Fowler's brother-in-law. He was the son of Artemas Richardson and Charlotte Strong; he married Mary McFarland in 1875. They lived in Portland for many years, then moved to Middletown. They were in Canton, OH with their older daughter in the 1920 Census, but he did not die in Ohio. Mary lived in the Masonic Home in Waterbury from about 1924 until her death in 1950; Samuel may have lived their before his death, although I have not been able to confirm this. If anyone has any information on either of these two persons, I would appreciate hearing from you.
