As promised (or threatened <g>) the next week, Jan 1 to Jan 7, will be the time for our annual Middlesex Co., CT, roll-call of those elusive ancestors we've been trying to find. For those of you who don't want a lot of messages flooding your mail-boxes, I'll repeat the instructions to change to the Digest mode (1 or 2 messages a day) at the end of this email.. OK, now for the rules (you knew there had to be some, didn't you?) Please follow these suggestions: 1) Middlesex Co. families only, though where they came from and where they went after leaving Middlesex will help others identify them. 2) Change the subject line up there - put in your surnames and approximate dates - 1600s, 1850's, whatever, but give people a clue to who you're talking about and what era to make sure that your post isn't deleted unread. Putting the surnames in CAPITALS makes them stand out. 3) Give names & dates - you'll get more useful responses if you post about "Elisha FULLER, son of Elisha FULLER & Esther HUNGERFORD, b. 1749 in East Haddam, m. Sarah SPARROW, 9 Nov 1770, need Sarah's parents & siblings" than you will with just FULLER. [notice how I managed to insert one of my Roll in there?<g>] 4) To switch from List mode to Digest mode this send a message to CTMIDDLE-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains the word unsubscribe and then send a message to CTMIDDLE-D-request@rootsweb.com that contains the word subscribe To switch back to the List mode, just reverse the process. 5) Most important, have fun and let's see if we can solve a few mysteries in the process.
