Putting the surnames in CAPITALS makes them stand out. 3) Give names & dates - you'll get more useful responses if you post about "Elisha FULLER, son of Elisha FULLER & Esther HUNGERFORD, b. 1749 in East Haddam, m. Sarah SPARROW, 9 Nov 1770, need Sarah's parents & siblings" than you will with just FULLER.
