Can anyone help with Amasa Smith's whereabouts after 1800 where he appears in the census in Chatham- East Hampton, next to Isaac Smith? I can't locate any other records for him after this time. Amasa, b. 1774, married 14 October 1797, Mary Williams, b. 1778, daughter of Isaac Williams, b. 1741, and Lois Fairchild, b. 1742. Children, form Barbour Middletown records: Eliza Powers 1798 (birth) Lois Fairchild 1799 m. Oren Hurl but, settled in Cleveland, Ohio Mary Seaward 1801 Caroline Brooks 1803 Amasa 1805 Sally (Sarah) Lewis 1807 The middle names of Fairchild, Seaward, and Brooks match grandparents surnames.
