Dear Chris: One line of the Saunders married into the Wolcutt family. Elizabeth Saunders, born in 1582 in Somersetshire, married Henry Wolcutt in 1606/7 and immigrated to the the states in 1630. Elizabth was the Daughter of Thomas of Lydiard, St. Lawrence, Somersetshire. He died in 1609. He was the son of John Saunders b. c. 1534. They first settled in Dorchester and then removed to Windsor, Ct. in 1636. I have some more information about the other Saunders; however, my files on them are in the 'shed', my husband's unheated office. I'll try to get out there w/i the next few days and see if I can find anything helpful for you. The name "Simon" was the name of one of Henry and Elizabeth's son, or grandson, which makes me think it could possibly be the same family.
