I'm rather casting in several directions for my 3xgreat/grandfather. He was a Silas Beebe, born in NY state in l808, who by at least 1830 wa in the Lyme, Ct. area and married to a girl from this town. I therefore suspect that he had some relatives around here. His first son, born in l838, was named William and both Silas Beebe and his brother Nathaniel, sons of Eunice Cone who moved to NY, where old enough and married in time to be his father. My Silas' middle name also started with a "C" which could conceivably represent Cone. If you have any additional ideas for direction, please let me know. Probably wills and probate records might shed some light on whose son he was. Thanks again, Sue B.
