Can anyone advise me on how to obtain a 1931 Connecticut death certificate when the exact town/city of death is not known? Connecticut seems to be among the few "very difficult" states to obtain vitals from......or am I missing something?
There are some CT death records on ancestry.com. I am not sure which years. You should check first. There is some problem with people who don't fill out paperwork and they are not listed even on the ssdi, the social security death index. I am speaking of my maternal grandmother and her sister. They both died in care of their children /on social security/ and with no debts or wealth to split up since both had only one child. One died in 1968 and the other in the 1980's. Why don't you check the 1930 census to see where in CT they lived? The Heritage Quest index thru your local library on that year is pretty good. Our libraries in CT subscribe to it.
