Dear fellow researchers, When my post came through in digest form on the CTFAIRFI list, it struck me that I may have been confusing subscribers to the list, when I was referring to the board, only. I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding. The note I posted on the board, pertained entirely to the board, on which I'm the Volunteer Administrator. Hope Kenney is the listowner for *this list, so I don't want to even appear to step on her toes. <g> I just wanted to make sure posters to the Rootsweb/Ancestry.com Message boards specified location, as there is already an "Unknown" Connecticut board. Thanks. Happy hunting, Maureen Mead [email protected] ______________________________ X-Message: #2 Date: 3 Apr 2004 12:15:46 -0700 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Subject: [CTFAIRFI] *ADMIN MESSAGE: PLEASE READ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TZ.2ADE/4402 Message Board Post: Hello, In order for this message board to be useful to Fairfield County researchers, the messages posted here *must contain some reference to Fairfield County, CT. Even if it's just a guess. It's helpful if you list the town in which you are searching in the header and the body of the message. (But it's not a *rule--just helpful because in Connecticut, records are kept at the town level.) If you don't know the area, but think it's somewhere in Connecticut, there is an "Unknown" Connecticut board. Just go to: Localities>North America>United States>Connecticut>Unknown Since Fairfield County borders New York State, some confusion may occur. Please use your best guess, mentioning the areas in which you are searching, *including Fairfield Co., CT. I have allowed leeway in the past, but today I ran into several posts that were so vague, they didn't mention more that "Connecticut." Those posts rightly belong in the "Unknown Connecticut" board, which is where they have been moved. Thank you for your time. Now please get back to finding those ancestors! <g> Maureen Mead Message Board Admin >>
