    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: HOBART, Blaverhasset, Mann, Bush, Woodworth, Mass, USA, England, Australia Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TZ.2ADE/1118.1772.2 Message Board Post: re: Thomas Hubbard (Hobart) b: 1300's. I seem to be having a problem following the "thread" to see if someone has already passed this info on to you - if so you are about to get it again! (sorry about that). To find this Thomas best try message board search for Eleneor BLAVERHASSET b <1483>, and a much shorter list of sites to search through, (often also spelled Blennerhassett, right within the family) who married Myles(Miles) Hobart <1481> (also spelled Hubbard & variations, all within the family tree, and eventually to Hubba) in about 1500, Norwich, Norfolk (Cambridge), England. These roots (Hobart) will trace back to the "Thomas 1300's" that you are looking for. If I remember correctly [everything here is without my records handy and is "off the cuff"], his Uncle or Grandfather or whatever, organized a large group of deeply religious people and went off to find a better place, probably Australia and quite possibly the "founder" of Hobart, Tasmania? Good luck and let me know! I am about to "pay" for your Australia info, et al, in advance - read further at the peril of your "free time" for the next few years - for diverse info derived from Hobart! Their (Ellenor & Miles) children included a Thomas Hobart who was burned at the stake for his protestant views ( this is in the period between the death of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, when the religious bent of the monarchs changed a few times - 'one' survived depending on just who was "in" or "out" at the time). You will be able to follow Hobart back to your Thomas(1300's). Many of Thomas (Martyre) Hobart's relatives and associates fled to Massachusets not long after - (no kidding - I would be running just as fast), including my family group Mann (William Mann, married to Ellenor's sister? Frances - son Charles >>>), William Mann (m: Jarrad) and Richard Mann (m:Cowing) - ALL of these people were of Aristocratic roots (Kent, Essex and Norfolk) - put SIR in front of most, and will be found under various, often erroneous birth locations, dates et al in Scituate, Plymouth, Mass, USA. [These roots will also trace back through the "FRENCH CONNECTION] and will join to just about every King there ever was in Europe including England, France, Spain, Italy, Acquitaine, Aragon, Germany, and Russia, to about 800 AD. I have contacted by a delightful Lady in California (Joanne) who believes the tree will indeed trace back to Charlemain, and a longshot possibly to Julius Caesar - a lot of research needed that far back! If you are having trouble doing the connection I can point the way a bit (I have the info from Joanne but have not done much more than establish where and how Hobart connects to the LARGE earlier European Royal tree - I'm doing the live relatives this year, and the Scottish roots which are confusing to say the least). Have I made your day yet? - or ruined your future? More to follow: Confirmation of much information can be done by following the current (Live) roots of one of your relatives who you may have heard of, - a fellow named George Walter Bush - I think he works in the US Government in some category!!! and won't be hard to find! you will find his connection to Elenor and Miles noted above. There are also likely connections both ways from this couple via Woodworth family in England and Mass, USA. Stay in touch, I will be needing a "little" help in tightening dates, places and Documentation over the next year or ten! I trust this "disertation (sp?)" covers your Thomas Hobart (1300's) adequately for now. Ron Mann [email protected]
