    2. Brooklyn Eagle October 28, 1901 Alfred Raymond. Alfred Raymond, son of Dr. Rossleer W. and Sarah Dwight Raymond, died at 1:30 this morning at the residence of his parents, 123 Henry St, after a prolonged attack of Typhoid fever. Mr. Raymond was born at Lakewood, Conn., Aug. 31, 1865 and was therefore in his 37 th year. His early education was secured in this borough at Polytechnic Institute and continued at Hill School, at Pottsville, Pa., Thence he entered Yale College, where he graduated with high standing in 1888. Following his graduation he entered the School of Mines of Columbia College, where he remained 3 years in close study of Engineering and Architecture, after 2 additional years in a Architecture office, applying the theory principals of his profession, he went abroad, traveled through Europe, with respect especially to visiting the greatest successes at the famous Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. this period embracing about 2 years. Returning, he persuaded his profession for several years. Upon the death of an employee whose place was exceedingly difficult to fill, Mr. Raymond was appointed assistant to his father in the work of editing the publication of the institute and mining engineers. For this work his knowledge of Foreign Languages and of Science and Art made him especially fit and his loss will deeply regretted by members of the institute. Mr. Raymond possessed unsureal versatility and was brilliant in many directions. He was a musician and poet of no small ability and his production of songs and Libredos evidence very high talent. His excellent dramatic talent was constant demand at amateur performances, which frequently, he was both autho r and actor. In his long collection with Plymouth Church he was prominent in its activities especially with the younger members. He held many offices and was at time of death president of the young mens club, and also of the Plymouth League of the Church organizations. Plymouth Church has suffered many grevious losses in the past years but none will be more deeply felt or more seriously lamented, especially by the younger and middle-aged members of the church, then Alfred Raymond. The funeral services will be held in the lecture room of the Plymouth Church tomorrow evening at 8 O'clock. The Rev. Hillis officiating. Home service and interment the following day.
