    1. Fire in Darien btw 1917-1920
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TZ.2ADE/4495 Message Board Post: my grandmother's brother, William Crossen, lived in Darien and I am trying to find a death record for him. He was in the Darien 1910 census living and working in Fitch Home for soldiers as a fireman. On his WW1 draft registration card it says he was living with his wife and child in Darien Center and was working as an Engineer at Bontons (sp?) Farm Products, Inc. By 1920 his wife and child were living in a boarding house in NYC. The family story was that there was a fire where William Crossen worked (possibly on Christmas Eve) and he died trying to rescue sa coworker. There was also mention that he worked in a milk plant. Do you have any information about a fire in a milk plant in Darien between 1917 and 1920? Do you know if I can have the Daien death records searched for his death reacord during those years? Thank you for your help, Elizabeth Andrew.
