    2. For those interested in this family I have the following information: It is well known (recorded in the Danbury, Fairfield, Connecticut vital records and hence in the Barbour Collection) that on 23 Mar 1762 William Roberts married Ann Sherwood. What is less well known is that this Ann Sherwood was the widow of Andrew Sherwood. The following sources (all from the LDS Family History Library) make this clear: . 1. Connecticut Probate Court (Danbury District) , Danbury District Probate records, 1744-1916 , FHL US/CAN Film 4024, v.2, pg 173, 11 Apr 1763. This is the distribution of the estate of Andrew Sherwood of Danbury. 1. "...giving to Ann Robberds now wife of William Roberds of Danbury aforesaid and late widow and Relict to the said Andrew Sherwood deceased the one third part of said estate as her Dower During Life." 2."..and to Daniel Sherwood Eldest son of the said deceased a Double part or share of the said estate." 3. "and to Ann Sherwood, Esther Sherwood, Sarah Sherwood, Hannah Sherwood, Andrew Sherwood and Rachel Sherwood they being the children and all the children of the deceased to each of them a single part or share in said estate.". 2. Connecticut Probate Court (Danbury District) , Danbury District Probate records, 1744-1916 , FHL US/CAN Film 4027, v.9, pgs 17-19, 27 Mar 1805. "Whereas by the death of Ann Roberts late widow and relict of Andrew Sherwood late of Danbury deceased, that part of the real estate of the said Andrew which was set off to the said Ann as Dower now remains to be distributed according to law as the said Andrew died Intestate this Court doth there upon nominate and appoint Hoah Hoyt, Justus Barnum and David Boughton all of said Danbury to make Distribution accordingly, that is to say to the children of the said Andrew, or the Representatives of any of them who are dead, equal shares , except to Daniel the oldest son, two shares. The same persons are also appointed to distribute according to law that part of the real estate of said Andrew which was distributed to his daughter Sarah, who died in her minority and unmarried.." Completed this 27th day of March 1805. The estate was distributed to the children of Andrew Sherwood and Ann Sherwood Roberts which were listed as follows: Rachel Brown, youngest daughter. Daniel Sherwood or his legal representatives. Ann, eldest daughter of said deceased, or her legal representatives. Ester Keeler, second daughter of the deceased.
