Doe anyone know the meaning of the Training Day I have put in bold type???? And the discription of Wolf Pits and Wild Cats. Where I amight obtain a copy of his probated will from Fairfield, Connecticut. thanks Lucie Vaccaro-Bailey The fully authenticated records of the Baileys date back to Benoni, who was born cicra 1697. He resided a mile or two from the little village of Bethel, situated on the borders of Danbury. His farm was close to, if it did not join, that of the members of the Benedict family. In his will, probated at Fairfield, Connecticut, at the time of his death, which took place in May, 1792, he bequeathed his lands to his children, using the primitive names given the sections by the early settlers. One tract was called Wolf Pits, and we know that another section was named Wild Cats. He lived to the ripe age of 96, and died on "Training Day." He was buried in the old Bethel burial-ground at the back of the church, and the inscription on his tombstone was still visible a few years ago.
