Also, listed are their close relatives, two granddaughters of Henry Banks, Mrs. Sarah Margaret Swanson Roper file 6334, and Mrs. Martha Thornton Banks Mitchell file 6335. "Lineage Book, National Society of The Daughters of The American Revolution" Volume VII 6001-7000, 1894 by Mary Jane Seymour, Washington, D. C. 1898, page 112 and 113. Our Henry Banks of Atlanta Georgia area had an older brother named Henry. Here is an old email explaining it to: Janbobbie1@aol.com Dear Janis in Texas, Thank you, for the information about the Fairfield Book written by Donald Lines Jacobus. The library at Florida State University has a book named "The History of Fairfield" written by Mrs. Elizabeth Hubbell Schenck Volume I 1889 and Volume II in 1905. I hope to read these soon. Last week, at FSU Strozier Library, I found a large series of books, "New England Historical and Genealogical Register" Call Number 973.05 N532, in which a few contained typed copies of all of the Greenfield Hill Church Records, Fairfield County, CT. Where the confusion begins is that there are 2 Henrys that are brothers in this immediate family: 1 born 1797 and his brother (my Henry) born 1811. In this book, written 1915, Volume 69 page 373, the eldest son of Hyatt named Henry (not my younger Henry) is listed under Persons Baptized on February 8th, 1803: Henry, Son Eunice, Daughter Alson, Son Marietta, Daughter (all) of Hyat Banks I have found several websites that do not have all of these same kids listed, so, none of these family trees where created using these church records & my Henry is not listed on the websites. The only confirmation that I have found that my Henry Banks born 1811 is the son of Hyatt Banks 1764-1847 and Elizabeth Wakeman 1765-1835 is Henry and his wife's name Mary Margaret Cox (1825-1910) is listed at the very last line of on a 2 page DAR Genealogical Form – Lineage and Rev Service document (Mary Burr Banks) of a person who descends from Henry's older brother, Eben W. Banks 1796-1869. Where the confusion begins is that there are 2 Henrys that are brothers in this immediate family: 1 born 1797 and his brother (my Henry) born 1811. I am asking the D. A. R. to send me more information about who submitted this form but, they have not responded yet. Attached is page 1 the document that I just typed up from the copy that I found. I will type page 2 this afternoon and send it to you. Please, download it and notice that there are 2 sons named Henry that belong to Hyatt on the bottom of the 2nd page. Please, let me know if you come across any more information. Sincerely, Florence Carrie Brown Janbobbie1@aol.com wrote: Hi Florence, If you have not already found where to get that book, "The History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield", you might contact Heritage Books: http://www.heritagebooks.com If I remember correctly, it is a 3 volume set compiled by Donald Lines Jacobus in 1930. Charles Winton (4) Albert Banks (5) Noah Banks m. Sally Gould (6) Charles Banks. (There is no child named "Henry" listed for Hyatt & Elizabeth.) I descend from Joseph Banks, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Lyon and brother of Benjamin 2nd. Hope this helps. Janis in Texas
