Gideon Bostwick, 1770-1793, Great Barrington, Massachusetts." Rev. Bostwick was an Episcopalian minister, brought to Great Barrington by the Dutch families who were living there. Baptism date: 11 July 1773 Father: Benjamin Stilwell Mother: Mary Child: Ard sn. Place: Great Barrington I found this on Ancestry.com. Also, Benjamin Stilwell from Alford (which adjoins Great Barrington) apparently died at Valley Forge, on 20 Jan 1778. I sent off for his service record, but it doesn't give any more info on wife, children, etc. He was a sergeant in Alvord's Company, 4th Massachusetts Regiment, William Shepard, Colonel. My oral family history says he died at Brandwine, but perhaps he was wounded at Brandywine and died at Valley Forge. I found him listed on the Valley Forge Nat'l. Park website.
