Many from my family/direct line from Thomas are in an old cemetary in Newtown Connecticut.....Samuel is there,too.Many markers are faded out, but someone has replaced one or two with new polished granite, when I was last there. The homes of Edward and James are right in that area and my brother and I were fortunate enough to be allowed a tour of each ,several years ago......Try also in Stratford and Fairfield,CT...Historical Societies etc. Fairchilds also moved to Weston Vermont ,near where I live now...around the time of the Revolution. Fairchilds are still there . I have also found Fairchilds in the phone book in the area of Biddeford. Maine.tho' I haven't tried to contact them..I was in correspondence with another Thomas direct line, in Canada....his ancester bought a mill,from Thomas in Fairfield.....hope this helps somewhat..
