Perhaps someone on the list has additional information about my Knapp ancestors. Several Knapps have been the subject of messages in the last week. I have tried to find some mutual Knapp connections in the informative website that Barbara de Mare listed in her email to the list on June 21 for the Phillips-Knapp Family Association: http://www2.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=phillipsknapp&rand=313452390- The only common ancestor I have found so far is Richard Osborn (b ca 1612), father of Hannah Osborne (b. 1640). Hannah's sister Sarah Osborn (Peat/Peet) was my eighth great grandmother. I have not yet been able to find a connection between my Knapp ancestors and the Knapps listed in the messages, perhaps because my female Knapp ancestors married into the Ferris and Mead families in the 1600s. My earliest recorded Knapp ancestor was Nicholas Knapp (born between 1605-1610 in England; died 1670 in Stamford , Fairfield County, Connecticut). According to my records, I am descended from two of his children: Caleb [b. 1636-1637 in Watertown, Massachusetts; died between 1670-1677 in Fairfield County - married Hannah Smith (b. 1642, Stamford) ca 1660] and Ruth [b. 1641 in Watertown; died aft 1711 in Greenwich, Connecticut - married Joseph Ferris (b. 1635) in 1657]. Caleb's daughter Sarah Knapp (b. 1670 in Stamford) married Ebenezer Mead (b. 1663 in Greenwich ) in 1691. Ruth's daughter Ruth Ferris (b. 1659 in Greenwich) married Samuel Peck (b. 1659) in 1686. I would appreciate any additional information.
