Whalen Jr. Richard J. Whalen Jr., 52, died Nov. 10. Born in Bridgeport, he was a lifelong area resident. He was a veteran of Vietnam and had been employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his mother, Jean Whalen of Fairfield; a son, Shawn Whalen of North Haven; a daughter, Cynthia Whalen of West Haven; grandsons, Jovanni and Tristen Perez; sisters, Donna Novia of Milford, Cindy Basile of Danbury and Arlene Powers of Fairfield; a brother, John Whalen of Stratford; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road.
